riding dirty?
and here, dear reader, i depict for you: my ride to work, in picture form.

(to your right, you'll note the local jewish community center. straight ahead: hope high school.)

(oh, thayer street. you are so empty early in the am, when all the hipsters are still deeply involved in their eyeliner-clad REM cycles.)

(here, we are passing by bagel gourmet ole, coming upon east side pockets [not bad, but sub-par when you're used to international], and soon there after, shanghai, the site of many a kurt-visit-dinner)

(while we wait for this red light, i'd like to take the opportunity to introduce our copilots: buddha and bonkers. oh, excuse me, bonkers! should we give you some privacy while you do your business? ...ok.)

(on your left, you will find us passing by...oh, just some large brick building that's a part of brown. where i work. i work at brown. [this is very likely the admissions building, but don't quote me!])

(gasp! is that a real city building i see, off in the distance? stay tuned, we are fast approaching my favorite view of providence [something that, admittedly, changes QUITE frequently])

(almost there!)

(well, well! what have we, here? a real city? almost!)
ladies and gentlemen, this concludes the photo-tour of my drive to work...yes, i still have to drive about a mile, but that, we'll save for another time. hope you enjoyed your time with us! don't forget to tip the driver.

reading other people's blogs makes me miss writing
...so i decided to start a(nother?) blog. because this new job has little to do with the devil wearing brooks brothers, and/or the meaning of the "l" word (no, not "lesbian," though it also has little to do with that). not sure what this will contain and/or where it will go. and/or whether i will continue overusing "and/or."
not much to report on the "new job" front.
i mean, besides that it's pretty not bad. i wouldn't say great, but certainly not awful, either. slowly but surely learning how to take a long time doing things so that i can appear more busy, more often. the end/beginning of each month is the busiest, and i look forward to it every time. people are incredibly nice, here, and that's what makes it worth it.
city living gets to be more fun as the weather gets warm; more and more often, lately, on my drive home from work i find myself thinking "i love providence." the trees are starting to develop buds that will become leaves come summer, the crocuses have long since faded away and daffodils and other lovely little things have taken their place.
just ordered two new shirts and Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. because i need more color in my wardrobe and better reading material. also i may or may not be a tad in love with john krasinski. oops!
it's been a good few days to be a "city girl" (and yes, i understand that no actual "city girl" would ever refer to herself as such), or, more accurately, a Rhode Island girl. the past weekend was full of random drives to south county, catching up with people, hints of the upcoming summer, phils (!), newton ave, roomie time, tv and movies. and sunshine. lots of sunshine.
thinking about a walk after work...
